Basilisk and Berry: Update

It’s been 4 months since I posted about my Basil and Wild Strawberry plantie-plants. I thought it was time for an update! I’m very happy to say that they’re doing quite well, and I’ve gotten into the routine of watering them daily – which seems to be the key to the whole thing. God – it sounds stupidly obvious, but there was a time when I thought I could get away with not watering them for days in a row 😛

I water them with this adorable little watering canteen (below). My boyfriend bought it for me at Hull’s annual yard sale weekend. It’s just perfect for watering two plants daily, and it’s so pretty.


Sometimes little mushrooms grow in the plants’ soil! They only last about a day, then they wilt and decompose. For some reason it makes me think of Alice in Wonderland. I imagine being a tiny bug exploring the earth inside one of the pots, looking up at the huge mushrooms.


And just as a matter of pride, I thought I’d include pictures of what Basilisk and Berry looked like 4 months ago:
